Full-time member of the “legendary” “death-jazz” progressive-metal group Atheist as well as the acclaimed new band Gnostic, Chris plays and tours with both bands – simultaneously – that means two shows per night on tour! Recognized as one of the premier guitarists in the extreme/progressive-metal genre by many national (U.S.) and international publications as well as industry moguls, Chris has a fiercely loyal and ever broadening fan base and is frequently compared to such notable musicians as Darrell Abbott (Pantera), Kirk Hammet (Metallica), Alex Skolnik (Testament), Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne), Mattias Jabbs (Scorpions) and others. In January 2009 both Atheist and Gnostic signed multi-album recording contracts with Season-of-Mist records – including deals for live DVD’s Gnostic’s debut CD “Engineering the Rule” will be released internationally on May 25th 2009 Atheist live CD (2-disc set with “best-of” complication) to be released June of 2009 (Relapse Records) Atheist 4th studio album will be released in Spring of 2010 Atheist will release a live DVD in the Spring/Summer of 2010 Gnostic’s 2nd studio album will be release in August of 2010 Due to considerable, and ongoing, international demand for the Atheist catalog, Relapse records (www.relapse.com) re-mastered and re-released the entire Atheist discography worldwide, along with new merchandise, testimonials from industry thought leaders, a box set of vinyl (subsequently sold out), demo recordings, live recordings, and studio bass/drum tracks. Atheist will release a live CD – a 2-disc set including a “best of” compilation from the bands 3 existing studio albums – in June of 2009 via Relapse Records Atheists’ “Unquestionable Presence” was named to Decibel Magazine’s “Hall of Fame,” along with notable acts such as Sepultura and Slayer – October 2005 (Attached). Atheists’ “Unquestionable Presence” was also named as one of the “Top-20 All-time Metal albums” by Decibel Magazine – April 2006 (Attached). Chris has toured extensively both in the US and internationally since 1989. For the past three years, Chris’ bands “Atheist” and “Gnostic” have performed at the largest most high-profile music festivals throughout Europe and North America, including Wacken, Hellfest, Graspop, Evolution, Hole in the Sky, Murderfest, and many more. Both bands will be embarking upon high-profile US and European tours starting in May of 2009 Atheist and Gnostic are finalizing dates for these tours (US beginning July 8th in Atlanta Europe beginning August 8th in Czech Republic). In unprecedented fashion, Chris will pull double duty on tour by playing for both Atheist and Gnostic on the same bill and the same night in most cases.
